I used a small independant mover the first time, and they were aweful. They berated me for packing the way I did, they were rude and they lost a decorative screw for a swivel mirror, but couldn't help me when I called to get it back.
The second time I used a larger company, franchise type thing, I think. The guys were much more professional and friendly, even if they did make a couple of questionable jokes about my sewing dummies. Everything was handled respectfully and they were efficient. Definately worth the extra cost compared to the independants.

I have a friend who has used Two Small Men with Big hearts a few times with good results. They also have cash discounts, I'm told.
