Moby: Wait for Me. I think this is Moby's best album since Play, which was the real blossoming of the blues- and gospel-based electronic ambient stuff he's best known for. Wait for Me is a return to the mood of his pre-Play work, but richer and deeper. He set out to make a beautiful album, and I think he's succeeded: this is powerfully affecting stuff.

I don't know Moby, but I'll make a note to check him out based on your rec.

If you like blues at all, check out Matt Andersen, a Canadian blues guitarist and singer who won the International Blues Challenge competition in the US earlier this year. He's got a fantastic voice, good chops on guitar, and writes good material besides. My partner and I discovered him last year thanks to Stuart McLean (from CBC Radio) and his Christmas show; we loved his music, and we also went to see him in concert in February. Worth a listen, for sure.

You've probably heard stuff from Play, even if you don't recognize it as such.

Blues: possibly interesting... I'll keep an eye out!
